To begin with, we purchased two acres of land within the Wildwood Trust, the Woodland Discovery Park near Herne Bay in Kent.
The credit for the concept of building a Manorial Burgh, the overall planning and the sheer audacity of designing and constructing a full scale replica of an Anglo Saxon Longhall must stand with Nigel Amos – whom the Executive Committee promptly appointed as Wychurst Project Coordinator. Without his early vision and insistence in the face of initial opposition and doubt, Regia Anglorum would be much the poorer.
