The land we work on is our own, belonging corporately to all Regia members. It consisted of just over three acres of commercial woodland which we bought with planning permission for the bugh, Longhall and palisade. We have never once regretted the decision to purchase.
The credit for the concept of building a Manorial Burgh, the overall planning and the sheer audacity of designing and constructing a full scale replica of an Anglo Saxon Longhall must stand with Nigel Amos – whom the Executive Committee promptly appointed as Wychurst Project Coordinator. Without his early vision and insistence in the face of initial opposition and doubt, Regia Anglorum would be much the poorer.
